...to Jam Jar, my online daily photo journal. This is a place for me to share my photos of my life in London, England. I moved here from New Jersey/New York City, US, in 2001, and you'll see photos of everyday life in London, my various travels, and things found around the house. I haven't been posting to Jam Jar for a long time, for a number of reasons. I am hoping to get back into it, starting with a month-long commitment and seeing how it goes. I've missed doing it regularly, so hopefully the lost months will be even more incentive.
History
I started Jam Jar as a daily project in August 2002. The rules I set myself are simple: one (digital) photo a day, every day. No more, no less. Oh, I take many more, but I can only *post* one to the site. I was originally inspired by Madelah's 1000 Words A Day project. I have also participated in various Life in the Day projects.
Equipment
I have two cameras that I use: a 2003 Olympus C-730, 3.2 megapixel Ultra Zoom (10x optical), and a small 2004 Olympus Stylus 410 Digital (3x optical). Until mid-June 2003 I used a 2000 Olympus Camedia D-360L, 1.3megapixel digital camera. I use a graphic program to rotate, crop and resize; I rarely do any post-processing on any photo. If you have a question about a shot, feel free to ask me. It seems that the more pictures I've taken for Jam Jar, the less I find the need to even crop (except for thumbnails). I believe that taking pictures every day has helped me learn to frame my shots better.
Process
Although I take photos every day, sometimes I don't get to post them on that day, so if you want to join the notify list (see below), I'll let you know when I do post. Don't worry, I won't notify daily if I've been faithfully adding new pics every day. In that rare case, I'll notify every few days simply to remind you.
